The NTE309K is a positive 3-terminal voltage regulator in a TO3 type package suitable for applications requiring up to 1A. One of these is local regulation on digital logic cards, eliminating the distribution problems associated with single point regulation. This regulator is essentially blowout proof. Current limiting is included to limit the peak output current to a safe value. In addition, thermal shutdown is provided to keep the NTE309K from overheating.
